Frequently asked questions
How does the lock work?
Vera uses Apple's Screen Time to seal the apps you choose. When you open a sealed app you see the seal instead. Tap take the moment, then tap the Vera notification that appears. A moment of about 20 seconds opens in Vera: pick how you feel (or skip), read one short letter from your future self, then tap open my apps. Your apps open for 10 minutes, then they seal again.
You can start the same moment yourself from the Locks tab with open my apps. Reading or listening to stories in Vera never opens your apps.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The moment always works offline: its letters are bundled with the app, so you are never stuck behind the seal.
What plans are there?
The lock is free, and so is your first letter: without a subscription, sealed apps open through the same moment with letters bundled in the app. Vera Plus adds the writing and the voice: a new personal story every day, read aloud, letters written from your own words, and paintings for your vision board. It is yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers, or weekly. The price for your country is shown in the app before you subscribe.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Vera and tap Cancel. You can also get there from Vera: Journey → Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or period ends to avoid the next charge.
How do I restore my purchase?
In Vera, open Journey → Settings and tap Restore purchases, using the Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I delete my data?
In Vera, open Journey → Settings → Delete my data. Your profile is removed at once; every letter and story written for you, their recordings and pictures follow within minutes. It is never behind the paywall. Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription; cancel that in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Something Vera wrote or painted isn't right.
Letters, stories and pictures are written by AI from your own words, under rules that keep out anything hurtful or unsafe, and sometimes one still comes out wrong. Write to hello@pairmind.dev and tell us what it was; we will look into it and remove it.

Troubleshooting
I pressed "take the moment" and nothing happened.
On iOS 26.5 and later, the button opens Vera straight on the moment. On earlier versions a sealed app can't open Vera on its own, so the seal sends you a notification and tapping it opens the moment. Make sure notifications are allowed for Vera in the iPhone Settings app. If you missed the notification, open Vera yourself within 5 minutes and the moment opens, or tap open my apps in the Locks tab.
I need my apps right now.
Open the Locks tab and use the emergency unlock, unlock for 5 minutes, or remove apps from the seal there. Deleting Vera, or turning off Screen Time access for Vera, also removes every shield.

Privacy and your data
Vera has no account. The apps you seal and the photos on your vision board stay on your iPhone. Your name, answers and letters are stored against a random identifier so your letters can be written, and are sent through OpenRouter to the AI services that write, read aloud and paint them, only after you agree in the app. They are never sold, and we never use them to train models.
